Enjoy A Fruit Smoothie
With summer just around the corner it is a great time to begin gathering healthy recipes to help you get and stay healthy. A wonderful way to get some healthy fruits and vegetables into your diet is to make smoothies for breakfast, lunch, or a snack.
It is recommended that we eat five servings of fruits and vegetables each day, so adding a daily smoothie is an excellent idea. The following smoothie recipe is not only delicious, but will add Vitamin C, iron, potassium, and protein to your diet, which will help you reach optimal health. You can use fresh or frozen fruit for this smoothie and combine with a blender.
• 1 frozen banana, peeled and sliced
• 2 cups frozen strawberries, raspberries, or cherries
• 1 cup milk
• 1/2 cup plain or vanilla yogurt (can use soy or Greek yogurt)
• 1/2 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
• 2 to 3 tablespoons honey
Put all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy!
